Beer Run

Airis Garcia is a 21-year-old Los Angeles native filmmaker and current NYU film student whose work is deeply rooted in personal and family history. Her latest short film draws inspiration from true events tied to her parents’ upbringing in East L.A. during the 1990s, bringing authentic lived experiences to the screen with emotional resonance and cultural specificity.

Amid the music, love, and chaos of a 1997 East L.A. house party, a young man torn between loyalty and love joins his reckless friend on a run-of-the-mill beer run, where guns and pride enter the mix, and one impulsive choice shatters their world forever.
